Sinhala Wal Katha -amp- Wela Katha

This is a synonymous term often used interchangeably with Wal Katha to describe adult stories, frequently shared on blogs, social media groups, and dedicated forums.

Unlike the Pansiya Panas Jathakaya (550 Buddhist birth stories) told in temples, Wal Katha were told in the Hena (slash-and-burn fields) or the Maduwa (village common area) after the children had gone to sleep.
