Crazy, Stupid, Love. was shot on 35mm film (Arricam LT/ST, Panavision Panaflex Millennium XL2) using Panavision anamorphic lenses. The original digital intermediate (DI) was finished at 2K (2048×1080) – common for 2011. Therefore, this 4K disc is an upscale of the 2K master, not a native 4K scan. However, the inclusion of HDR and a higher bitrate provides notable improvements over the Blu-ray.

The film tells the story of Cal Weaver (Steve Carell), a middle-aged man whose wife, Emily (Julianne Moore), leaves him for another man. Devastated, Cal seeks the advice of smooth-talking bachelor Jacob Palmer (Ryan Gosling), a man known for his womanizing ways. Jacob takes Cal under his wing and teaches him how to navigate the modern dating world.
