Rather than a single albedo map and a roughness map, V1223 treats skin as a layered material: (T-zone), moisture layer (lips, eyes), pigment layer (freckles, moles), and deep vascular layer (blush, under-eye darkness). Each layer can be animated independently. When a character blushes in V1223, the reddening happens beneath the surface, not painted on top. That is objectively better rendering.

Previous Facemaker versions required you to decide your poly count at the start—low for mobile, high for cinematics.
