If you own an original UPA-USB dongle, the official v1.3 installer works as-is. For clones, some require a “loader” or “emulator”. Those extra files are often where malware hides. If you must use a loader, obtain it from a trusted source inside a password-protected archive (password shared in a respected forum thread).
If you own a clone UPA (most units under $50 on eBay, AliExpress, or Amazon are clones), you must use the software and driver package that came with your device or a community-tested patched version.
