The movie takes place in a world that has been devastated by war and environmental disasters. The story follows Max Rockatansky (Tom Hardy), a survivor who is captured by the tyrannical Immortan Joe (Hugh Keays-Byrne). Max teams up with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron), one of Joe's top lieutenants, who has grown disillusioned with Joe's regime. Together, they embark on a perilous journey to escape Joe's cult and find a safe haven.
